Version 3.3.5
Photomator 3.3.5 brings several improvements to the Photos and Files browsers, now allowing you to save edits directly to the Photos library, rename files, unlock locked files or folders in the Files browser, and display photos in nested folders. The update also includes a few other minor improvements and fixes to make it easier to browse and edit photos in Photomator.

• Added a new W keyboard shortcut that you can use to turn on the White Balance color picker.
• When editing photos in the Photos browser, edits will now be saved directly to the Photos library without creating sidecar files whenever possible.
• You can now rename files in the Files browser.
• In the Files browser, locked files and folders are now marked with a padlock badge. You can quickly unlock them by Control-clicking the locked item, and then choosing Unlock Folder or Photo.
• To choose whether to display photos in folders together with photos in their subfolders, you can now select or deselect the "Display items from nested folders" option in Photomator Settings.

Fixes
• Fixed various instances where the Files browser would allow users to attempt to modify items that were locked or read-only.
• When a photo in the Files browser had its original modified, reopening the photo, resetting all edits, then clicking Done would not revert it to the original. Fixed.
• In the Photos browser, open photos would not update after being edited in another app. Fixed.
• Photomator would display incorrect editing progress when batch editing photos in the Photos browser. Fixed.

Changes: Mar 15, 2024 Version 3.3.4 Photomator 3.3.4 adds JPEG-2000 file format support to the files browser and includes a number of additional improvements and fixes. Files Browser • JPEG-2000 files are now supported in the files browser. • Photomator files will now be displayed with a PHOTO badge. • When dragging and dropping paired assets such as RAW+JPEG to move them between folders, only the JPEG file would be moved. Fixed. • If you renamed one file that was part of a RAW+JPEG pair while the app was open, the browser would sometimes end up in an inconsistent state after deleting or moving one of those renamed items. Fixed. • When creating new subfolders, either in the Finder or in Photomator, they would not appear if the parent folder initially had no subfolders. Fixed. • Certain sidecar files would occasionally not be identified correctly, leading to issues with opening them, displaying their thumbnails, and more. Fixed. • If a Photomator file was added to a folder in the Finder while the app was running, it would not appear in the files browser until the app was relaunched or the folder was manually refreshed. Fixed. • If you opened an edited image, then opened a neighboring image and used the filmstrip to revert the previously opened image, then changed back to the reverted image, edits that should have been reverted would be reopened. Fixed. • On rare occasions, certain files would have zero values for width and height, and attempting to open them would cause the app to quit unexpectedly. Fixed. Other Improvements and Fixes • RAW+HEIC and RAW+HEIF paired assets will now have corresponding badges in both browser modes. • When batch exporting large amounts of images, some of them would be empty. Fixed. • Some specific HDR images would be opened completely black. Fixed. • Quickly repeatedly switching between browser modes would result in high memory usage and slowness. Fixed. Smart Deband • Using the powerful new Smart Deband feature, you can now remove color banding artifacts from photos saved using lossy compression formats and increase their color depth, bringing them to a near-RAW quality. • Thanks to the AI-powered artifact removal algorithm, Smart Deband detects and evenly smooths out areas of photos that have gradients or solid colors with distinct bands of color or blocking artifacts. • To ensure especially smooth transitions between colors, Smart Deband also increases the color depth of a photo to 16-bit — color depth comparable to a RAW image. • You can now quickly apply Smart Deband to photos by pressing Control-Shift-B on your keyboard. • To only deband a photo without increasing the color depth, press Option-Shift-Control-B on your keyboard. • With the new Smart Deband action available in the batch editing settings, you can now deband and increase the color depth of multiple photos at a time.
